Win Submariners’ Dolphins Badge at Museum

FAMILIES are being given the chance to win a submariners’ dolphin badge each day by crewing a submarine.

The Royal Navy Submarine Museum in Haslar Road, Gosport, is running a family challenge over the half term from May 27 to May 31.

The Team Alliance Family Challenge will get families to find clues and solve puzzles against the clock.

Gareth Brettell, education manager at the museum said: ‘The challenge is on to see if our family visitors have got what it takes to become part of HMS Alliance’s crew and work together as a team in a series of submarine challenges.’

HMS Alliance is the museum’s Second World War-era A-Class submarine.

It is currently the subject of a £7m refurbishment.

During the family challenge every member will be asked to play their part onboard, showing their physical and mental skills.

And around the museum there will be different activity stations including a Morse code trail, picture puzzles and physical challenges to test visitors’ reaction times.

There will also be interactive games with the Horrible Science of Submarines exhibition and the new family play centre for under fives, the Busy Boat Bay.

All of these events are free with a valid museum ticket.

Tickets start at £9 and family tickets are available at submarine-museum.co.uk.
